Day Trips
Wulong Day Trip from Chongqing
Take the train to Wulong South, connect to the visitor centre and make the Three Natural Bridges your main visit. Plan the return first; the gorge is an optional addition, not an obligation.
Search Chongqing East → Wulong South, then arrange the mountain connection.
- Chongqing East (重庆东) and Wulong South (武隆南) are the station names for the high-speed route. Wulong (武隆) is a different station.
- The railway does not take you to the Three Natural Bridges entrance. You still need the road connection and scenic-area transport.
- For a first day trip, prioritise Three Natural Bridges; add Longshuixia only if the return connection, weather and walking capacity allow.
- Keep this as a full day without a flight or intercity departure afterward.
Train fares, bus departures and attraction packages must be checked for your date. The plan below explains each handover rather than promising a fixed same-day timetable.
Time-sensitive information. Entry rules, opening hours, fares and app features can change. Check the linked operator information for your travel date. Found an update? Email our local team.

Names that must not be mixed up
The independent route, door to door
Book the return train before choosing extras
In official Railway 12306, search 重庆东 → 武隆南 for your date, then the reverse journey. Compare arrival and departure stations on each individual train. Save tickets and the passenger document details offline.
Reach Chongqing East with time for security
Plan the hotel-to-station leg separately using your actual departure time. Follow rail departure signs at 重庆东站. Use the identity document tied to the ticket; do not treat a metro arrival time as your train boarding time.
At Wulong South, find the connection to the visitor centre
Ask the staffed transport desk for the service to 仙女山游客接待中心. Confirm the fare, next departure, travel duration and return boarding point before leaving. A tourist connection is documented, but its current full timetable is not verified here.
Buy the correct scenic-area product
At the visitor centre or the official 武隆喀斯特旅游景区 WeChat mini-program, select 天生三桥. Read what is included: admission, required transfer, lift and any optional upgrade are separate questions. Confirm passport entry with customer service if the booking form is unclear.
Follow the Three Natural Bridges route
Allow an unhurried walking block and follow the signed route and return-transport instructions. Take grippy shoes, rain protection and water. A lift in the route does not make the entire visit step-free.
Return via the agreed connection
Use the confirmed scenic exit transfer back to the visitor centre, then the connection to 武隆南站. Keep time for queues, road delays and station checks. If there is uncertainty, skip the second attraction rather than depend on the last possible bus.
Build the day around these blocks
This is a planning sequence, not a booked schedule. No bus connection or attraction entry is guaranteed by these blocks.
What to include in the budget
Both railway tickets
Use the fare for your train, date, passenger category and class in 12306. Do not apply a fare or journey time quoted at the line’s opening to every service.
Station-to-mountain travel
Confirm the price in each direction and whether a taxi quote covers waiting. Check the exact return station and pickup point.
Admission and internal transport
Compare the total package, not just the published basic admission. Check mandatory shuttle/lift inclusions and optional upgrades in 费用包含 / 费用不包含.
Second attraction and food
Longshuixia is an additional decision. Set aside food, water and a contingency for a changed road connection; do not assume one ticket covers all of Wulong.
Independent trip or an arranged day?
Compare each provider’s written transport, admission and meal inclusions before booking.
Questions to ask the visitor centre
Where does the bus from Wulong South to the Xiannüshan visitor centre leave today? What is the fare, next departure and last return? Where do we board back to Wulong South? What is the latest entry to the Bridges and Gorge, and what does our ticket include?
Official checks before departure
Use these alongside the written return arrangement you confirm locally.

Wulong district: attraction directory
The 2026 directory is a reference for attraction information. A basic admission listing is not a current all-inclusive checkout price.
Keep the city itinerary separate
Use Wulong as an extra day, or consciously replace a city day rather than compress both.
Questions before booking
Can I visit Three Natural Bridges and the gorge in one day?
Is Wulong South the same as Wulong station?
Can I do this on my flight departure day?
Do I need to visit Fairy Mountain forest park as well?
